STH Chapter 6

"Hey you, wake up already!" A young boy tapped on her body. She opened her eyes to see her friend standing beside her. His eyes watched as she sat up from being slumped over on the desk to sitting up in the chair.

"What is it Jona?" She asked unhappily.

"Class is over Ace. Time to get up." He told her.

She turned her head to examine the empty class. "Is it time to go home yet?" she sighed, scratching the back of her head.

"No we still have one more class!" He bent down and grabbed her ripped up backpack from the floor.

"How tiring..." she complained, rising out of her seat. She stretched her body for a second. Feeling her bones crack and pop. She waltzed down the aisle of seats and Jona followed right behind her. The two ambled out of the classroom and stepped into the hallway. The eyes of their peers looked over at her before turning to their friends and whispered.

"Which class was our last one again Jona?" She asked, completely confused.

"Ugh, you are so hopeless without me!" He rolled his eyes, turning his body to walk down the left hallway. She followed him, hearing the ugly chatting throughout the hall. All, which was about her.

'Her hair's a different color! That isn't fair!' 'I heard she screwed the chairmen to get into this private school! What a slut.' 'She's always asleep! Isn't she a bit too much of a basketcase to be here with people like us?' 'Ew I hate her eyes. They are always so...lifeless and mighty!' 'She thinks she's better than all of us.'

She gave out a heavy sigh and held her head down. Jona noticed, "Hey don't listen to them ok?" He slowed down his walking to match her pace. She yawned, shrugging her shoulders,

"I'm not listening to them. I'm more worried about if I have the energy to get to class!"

"Are you serious?!" He gasped and she bursted out laughing.

"Hey, don't joke about that! I've had to carry you to class before!" He scolded.

"That's why it's so funny! You're so miserable yet you still do it!" She smiled.

"You look like you're having a fun time!" A girl with curly blonde hair interjected, "So tell us, what are you laughing at you freak?" She folded her arms across her chest.

Ace glanced over at her and shrugged again, "Nothing really, just about your big ass nose."

"What did you say you bitch?!" The blonde girl stormed up to her. "Did I stutter Mana?" Ace smirked. Suddenly Mana threw a punch and Ace dodged it. She grabbed Mana's wrist and twisted her to the ground, placing her knee in her back. "Get off me!" Mana cried.

"Gladly." Ace sighed as she let got off the girl.

"Geez Mana, attacking people so suddenly. What's gotten into you?" Jona approached her as she got up.

"More like what's gotten into you! Why are you defending her?" Mana asked. "Why are you even with her!? You are the most popular boy in school yet all you do is hang around that depressing thing!" She pointed at Ace.

"Because I can do whatever I want Mana," Jona said, "Plus she's way more chill than you would ever be. Anyway, let's go Ace. I would hate to be late for class." He looked over at her. The two continued to walk down the hallway and Ace sighed again.

"If it weren't for that pain in the ass, I wouldn't even be in this school. I would be home, sleeping." She thought, turning her head to look out the window. She became fixated on the skyscraper that was miles away. It was the tallest thing in the city.

"If it weren't for him, Jona could gain back his popularity. Actually get good grades and not worry about me so much. Oh well, there's nothing I can do about any of this-" She suddenly stopped. A heavy feeling came over her and almost knocked her to the ground.

"Are you alright!?" Jona asked, running over to her

"Yeah..." she was about to lie but shook her head, "No Im not. I need to go lay down."

"You lazy ass!" He picked her up and heaved her on his shoulder. She giggled as he marched down the hall, complaining about how heavy she is.

'Hey Jona, if I told you that I might suddenly disappear, would you be sad?'
